Ongoing Projects

Families Empowerment

Most families in our program are not able to afford basic needs such as three meals per day, dignified shelter, basic education and good clothing. The money that is raised in this project goes towards facilitating case management activities such as home visits to coach the families, teach them on book keeping, skill training based on their interest and knowledge and setting up businesses with families to sustain themselves.

Emergency Fund

Some families require immediate help either medication, food or evacuation. in a case where there is child endangerment; a parent is completely unable to provide for themselves or their children. We first provide food relief and facilitate medical check up if needed as we consider ways to empower them. For example: A mother in an abusive marriage where even the safety of the children is threatened. After getting the go ahead from the local authorities we help the family relocate to a safe environment. A child not attending school; we liaise with the school to see the amount that can be accepted for the child to resume education as we plan with the parent on how the rest of the school fees will be paid.

Psychosocial Support

Due to harsh economic times, the families that we support are also facing psychosocial problems and mental disorders such as Depression, Drug addiction, Suicidal ideation, stress, Anxiety e.t.c. Treatment for the above issues is expensive and these families are not able to afford. The fund raised for this project goes towards offering counseling support, medication and rehabilitation.

Family Seminars

We conduct three seminars in a year; * April Seminar; Introducing families to each other and Holistic staff. We invite experts who offer training on children rights, financial literacy, bookkeeping and mental health talk. * August Seminar; We bring new and old families together for business training, sharing experiences and challenges. * December Seminar; All the families under Holistic come together where we do a general evaluation of their progress. We also play games and every family get a christmas package which consists of foodstuff and gifts for the children. The funds we raise in this project go predominantly towards paying the venue, the food providers and the invited experts. For the December-Seminar in addition we gift the families a christmas package with food.

Awareness about children's rights

Securing funding for raising awareness about children’s rights is essential to ensure children, regardless of their background, are protected, valued and given the opportunity to thrive. Many children in our communities suffer from exploitation, abuse, neglect and discrimination, often because their rights are either not known or not respected. By investing in awareness campaigns, educational programs, and advocacy efforts, we can empower our communities, government , and families to better understand and uphold children’s rights. These efforts not only help protect vulnerable children but also foster environments where they can access education, healthcare and opportunities that contribute to their overall well-being and future potential. Sustainable funding is essential for creating lasting change and ensuring that children’s rights are recognized and respected globally.
